FST UNAIR Holds 2026 Management Review Meeting to Strengthen Educational Quality

The Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Airlangga (FST UNAIR), held its 2026 Management Review Meeting (RTM). The meeting took place on Wednesday, 28 October 2026. It ran from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the FST Meeting Room, R.228.

The meeting formed part of the faculty’s quality assurance evaluation. Through this forum, the faculty reviewed teaching and learning activities. Participants also discussed academic services, audit results, and quality improvement measures.

Evaluation of Teaching, Services, and the Quality Assurance System

During the meeting, the Quality Assurance Unit (SPM) and Quality Assurance Groups (GPM) presented their monitoring reports. These reports covered teaching and learning activities, satisfaction surveys, and complaint services. They also addressed Internal Quality Audits (AMI) and study program accreditation.

The monitoring process covered two academic semesters. The 2025/2026 Even Semester ran from 9 February to 11 July 2026. Meanwhile, the 2026/2027 Odd Semester began on 10 August 2026. Classes for this semester are scheduled to continue until 19 December 2026.

The monitoring results highlighted several areas that require attention. First, the faculty needs to strengthen its implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE). The existing system supports learning outcome monitoring at the CPL level. However, monitoring at the CPMK level still requires further development.

In addition, the lecturer-to-student ratio remains an important concern. The faculty also needs to evaluate classroom and laboratory capacity. Equipment availability and occupational health and safety (OHS) practices require attention as well.

The E-Complain report recorded 35 complaints between January and August 2026. The faculty had followed up on 13 complaints. However, 22 complaints remained unread or had not received follow-up action.

These figures highlight the need for better complaint management. The faculty needs clearer response standards and monitoring procedures. Furthermore, it should improve awareness of the official complaint channels. This will help members of the academic community report issues through the appropriate channels.

2026 Internal Audit Results and Recommendations for Faculty Quality Improvement

The meeting also reviewed the 2026 Internal Quality Audit results. According to the report, nine study programs had no audit findings. Meanwhile, four study programs still had findings that require follow-up action.

Study program accreditation also formed part of the evaluation. Several FST UNAIR study programs hold international accreditation. In addition, some programs have achieved the Excellent (Unggul) accreditation status. These achievements provide a strong foundation for further educational quality improvement.

However, the faculty must maintain consistent implementation of quality standards. Each study program needs to follow up on audit findings with measurable actions. Furthermore, the faculty needs to strengthen the implementation of the PPEPP cycle. This cycle covers standard setting, implementation, evaluation, control, and improvement.

The meeting also highlighted the need for better-integrated quality documents. These documents include standard operating procedures, academic guidelines, and learning documents. The faculty also needs stronger documentation of laboratory activities and OHS practices.

Strengthening satisfaction surveys and tracer study data also remains important. Consistent data can help the faculty evaluate its services. Consequently, evaluation results can provide a sound basis for more targeted improvements.

Through the 2026 Management Review Meeting, FST UNAIR encourages coordination among faculty leaders, SPM, GPM, and study programs. Each unit needs to address the evaluation results according to its responsibilities. Furthermore, the faculty must monitor follow-up actions regularly.

The Management Review Meeting is more than a forum for presenting reports. Instead, it provides an opportunity to strengthen the faculty’s quality culture. FST UNAIR continues to improve learning quality, academic services, and institutional governance. These efforts support the continuous achievement of higher education standards.
