The program officially began with an opening ceremony on June 15, 2026, at the Faculty Meeting Room, FST UNAIR. Faculty leaders, Statistics Study Program lecturers, and representatives from internationalization units attended the event. Through INSIGHT 2026, UNAIR and NCCU expanded opportunities for academic cooperation while strengthening relationships between students and faculty members from both institutions.
Furthermore, the program offered participants valuable opportunities to exchange knowledge, explore research interests, and gain international experience. As a result, INSIGHT 2026 created a dynamic platform that connected academic communities from Indonesia and Taiwan.
INSIGHT 2026 Promotes Academic Collaboration and Global Research
INSIGHT 2026 provided numerous academic activities that encouraged collaboration between students and lecturers from both universities. Following the opening ceremony, NCCU participants joined a Survey Design class alongside Statistics students at UNAIR. Afterward, they visited Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE) to learn more about UNAIR’s international programs and global initiatives.
In addition, participants attended an international webinar featuring discussions on current developments in statistics and global research. The webinar enabled students and lecturers to exchange perspectives and broaden their understanding of contemporary research challenges. Consequently, the event strengthened academic networks and opened new possibilities for future research partnerships.
Moreover, INSIGHT 2026 included presentations on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a guest lecture, collaborative material presentations, and participation in a Financial Mathematics class. Therefore, participants gained comprehensive academic exposure while interacting directly with peers and lecturers from different cultural backgrounds.
INSIGHT 2026 Enhances Cultural Exchange and International Friendship
Besides academic activities, INSIGHT 2026 introduced participants to Indonesian culture and the rich heritage of Surabaya. First, students joined a city tour that included visits to Surabaya Museum and Surabaya City Square. Next, they visited the Taipei Economic and Trade Office (TETO) and explored opportunities for cultural and educational engagement.
Additionally, participants visited a local souvenir center to experience Indonesian craftsmanship and cultural products. These activities helped international students gain a deeper appreciation of local traditions and community life.
The program concluded with a Cultural Sharing session involving students from NCCU and UNAIR. During the session, NCCU students introduced Taiwanese culture, while UNAIR students presented Indonesian cultural traditions. Subsequently, participants joined interactive discussions, games, and networking activities that encouraged meaningful cross-cultural communication.
Finally, INSIGHT 2026 demonstrated the strong commitment of Universitas Airlangga to developing a globally connected academic environment. Through academic collaboration, cultural exchange, and international networking, the program strengthened the partnership between UNAIR and NCCU while creating valuable experiences for all participants. Moreover, the initiative supports UNAIR’s vision of becoming a world-class university with a significant international presence.
