Strategic Meeting Between UNAIR and Koladaisi University Opens Opportunities for Multidisciplinary Research Collaboration

Multidisciplinary Research Collaboration Strengthens Academic Networks

Surabaya – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held a strategic meeting with Koladaisi University as a concrete step toward expanding multidisciplinary research collaboration and international academic cooperation.

During the meeting, Dr. John Olajide Akanni attended as the representative from Koladaisi University. Meanwhile, the Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) Universitas Airlangga directly welcomed the international academic delegation.

The meeting reflected UNAIR’s commitment to building sustainable international partnerships. In addition, the forum created broader opportunities for collaboration among academics from different scientific disciplines. Therefore, the event became an important milestone in strengthening global academic networks.

Lecturers and researchers from various academic backgrounds also participated in the discussion. Participants represented mathematical modeling, applied sciences, technology, and health sciences. Because the participants came from multidisciplinary backgrounds, the discussion became highly interactive, dynamic, and productive.

Multidisciplinary Research Collaboration Became the Main Focus

During the first session, both institutions discussed several opportunities for international research collaboration. The proposed programs included joint scientific publications, academic knowledge exchange, and research proposal development for international funding schemes.

Besides discussing collaborative research programs, Dr. John Olajide Akanni explained the importance of multidisciplinary approaches in addressing global challenges. Furthermore, he shared strategies for developing productive research cultures that focus on publications in reputable international journals.

Dr. Akanni’s expertise in applied mathematics and interdisciplinary research strongly aligned with the research interests of FST UNAIR lecturers, especially those working in mathematical modeling. Consequently, the discussion generated many innovative ideas for future collaborative projects.

Moreover, participants also explored opportunities for academic exchange programs and innovation-based research development. As a result, this multidisciplinary research collaboration is expected to provide long-term benefits for both institutions.

International Seminars Encourage Global Collaboration

In the following session, the discussion focused on plans to organize international seminars and conferences together. Both institutions considered international academic forums essential for increasing global research visibility.

In addition, international conferences can connect researchers from different disciplines within a collaborative scientific ecosystem. Therefore, both parties agreed to strengthen future academic activities through sustainable collaboration programs.

Participants also emphasized the importance of maintaining long-term cooperation. According to the discussion, sustainable partnerships can accelerate research development while simultaneously improving the quality of international scientific publications.
