On Monday, June 17, 2024, the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) at Universitas Airlangga organized the BBQ (Bareng-Bareng Qurban) event at Nuruzzaman Mosque, Campus B, Universitas Airlangga. This event was part of the annual series of activities celebrating Eid al-Adha, aimed at strengthening the bonds between students, faculty members, and the surrounding community. The event was successfully held in collaboration between BEM FST and Airlangga Berqurban.
The BBQ event began with a fundraising campaign through the Open Qurban Donation Program, allowing students and external parties to contribute. Following this, the sacrificial animal slaughtering process took place, which was then followed by the BBQ session, where participants actively took part in cooking and enjoying the qurban meat together. The event was attended by students, faculty members, and the local community, creating a warm atmosphere of togetherness and blessings.
The main objective of this event was to foster the spirit of sharing among students and the community while strengthening the relationships between the academic community and the surrounding environment. Additionally, the BBQ event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of qurban and sharing with others, especially during the meaningful celebration of Eid al-Adha.
Overall, the BBQ event ran smoothly and received great enthusiasm from the participants. Besides serving as a means of social bonding, this event also aimed to inspire young generations to continue caring for others, particularly during religious celebrations. The event concluded with a joint prayer, hoping that the BBQ event will continue to be held in the future in an even better way.
