Ngabdi Rek 2023, the flagship program of the Environmental Engineering Student Association (HMTL) of Universitas Airlangga, marked its success by organizing a meaningful medicinal plant (toga) planting event in RW 6 Waringin, Sawunggaling Village, Wonokromo District, Surabaya City. In an effort to uphold the principles of sustainability, the entire Ngabdi Rek 2023 committee participated in the planting activity, establishing a close collaboration with the Environmental Study Group (KSL).
This medicinal plant planting program is not just about planting, it is an invitation to the community to actively participate in preserving their surrounding environment. By planting medicinal plants, the community is encouraged to take an active role in maintaining ecosystem balance, contributing positively to biodiversity, and supporting sustainable living.
Beyond being a physical activity, the planting of medicinal plants through Ngabdi Rek 2023 fosters awareness of shared responsibility for environmental sustainability. In addition to enriching the local landscape, this program also creates an emotional bond between students and the community, building a strong collaboration for a larger purpose. Therefore, Ngabdi Rek 2023 not only contributes to environmental sustainability but also lays a strong foundation for broader positive change in the local community.
