
On Friday, November 29, 2024, at 10:00 CET, a delegation from the Faculty of Science and Technology, Airlangga University (UNAIR), consisting of Prof. Dr. Fatmawati, M.Si., and Cicik Alfiniyah, M.Si., Ph.D., conducted a working visit to the Faculty of Science, Ghent University, Belgium. They were warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Dominique Adriaens, Director of Studies, Faculty of Science, accompanied by Wahid Dianbudiyanto S.T., M.Sc., who is currently pursuing his doctoral studies at the university.

The meeting began with a casual conversation that fostered a friendly relationship between the two parties. The discussion then shifted to the core topics, focusing on strengthening and expanding academic collaboration between the Faculty of Science and Technology, Airlangga University, and Ghent University.

Several key topics were discussed, including strategic initiatives such as student/staff exchange, joint publications and research, joint classes, and joint supervision. Furthermore, discussions also touched on plans for the development of joint/double degree programs at the Master’s and Doctoral levels. This collaboration is expected to broaden the academic partnership that has already been established, including cooperation with the Doctoral Program in Science at the Faculty of Science and Technology, UNAIR. The visit emphasized the commitment of both institutions to continue fostering close ties in education and research. With this collaborative effort, it is hoped that broader opportunities will be created for students and academics from both universities to contribute to the advancement of science on a global scale.
