On Monday, October 21, 2024, at 09:00 AM, the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) welcomed a visit from MAN 1 Kediri. Accompanied by the Duta FST student ambassadors, the visiting guests were warmly greeted by Prof. Dr. Fatmawati, M.Si., the Vice Dean III of FST UNAIR, Siti Zahidah, S.Si., M.Si., a lecturer in Mathematics at FST UNAIR and a a speakers who guided the students through the UNAIR campus, especially FST. During her speech, Prof. Fatmawati expressed gratitude for the visit and was followed by the teacher representative from MAN 1 Kediri, who enthusiastically responded to the warm reception and shared hopes that this visit would serve as inspiration or motivation for the students to pursue their studies at UNAIR, particularly FST.
Before continuing to the presentation, to ensure that the students remained excited about the visit, the MAN 1 Kediri students shouted their school’s chant. Not forgetting, FST also introduced its own chant, and a lively exchange of chants took place, energizing everyone in the room. The event then proceeded with Ms. Zahidah presenting UNAIR and FST through a video profile and prepared material, covering UNAIR’s campus distribution, available facilities, the opportunities to be gained as part of the UNAIR academic community, international activities held by FST, FST’s achievements, and the study programs under FST.
To provide more detailed information about each study program, the Duta student ambassadors shared their experiences and offered insights into student life at FST. The Q&A session followed as the students’ curiosity grew regarding specific activities in each program presented, such as the tasks students in the Biology program could undertake during Community Service (KKN), what daily life is like as a Statistics student, and more. After approximately two hours, the visit concluded at 11:00 AM. The event was closed with a prayer and a documentation session.
