FST UNAIR Implements Flexible Working Arrangement Ahead of the 2026 Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr Holidays

SURABAYA, March 5, 2026 – The Faculty of Science and Technology at Universitas Airlangga (FST UNAIR) has prepared adaptive measures ahead of the upcoming national holidays. The Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr holidays typically increase public mobility across the country. Therefore, the faculty leadership has arranged a more flexible working pattern for administrative staff. Through this measure, the faculty seeks to ensure the continuity of academic and administrative services.

FST UNAIR has implemented a Flexible Working Arrangement (FWA) policy for its administrative personnel. This policy provides employees with greater flexibility in their work arrangements while maintaining service quality. In addition, the policy supports employee productivity. It also helps staff maintain a healthy balance between professional responsibilities and personal life. As a result, employees can prepare for family gatherings during the holiday season more comfortably.

Nevertheless, the faculty continues to ensure that essential services remain fully operational. Each unit maintains academic services, student administration, and information support. Furthermore, students and institutional partners can still access the services they require. Consequently, members of the academic community continue to receive administrative assistance throughout the holiday period.

Commitment to Maintaining Service Quality

At the same time, the leadership of FST UNAIR emphasizes the importance of maintaining service quality during the extended holiday period. Therefore, each work unit organizes rotating schedules among staff members. In addition, teams actively conduct internal coordination. They also utilize digital communication tools to keep work processes efficient.

Through this approach, services for students and institutional partners remain well maintained. Moreover, several digital services can now be accessed more quickly and conveniently. Meanwhile, the Flexible Working Arrangement policy also reflects the institution’s commitment to fostering a healthy work environment. The policy encourages an adaptive work culture that focuses on performance and outcomes. Furthermore, FST UNAIR continues to develop modern working systems. Consequently, workplace flexibility has become an important element of the faculty’s organizational transformation.

Ultimately, the faculty leadership expects this policy to sustain institutional performance while also enhancing employee well-being. In addition, the initiative strengthens FST UNAIR’s commitment to delivering excellent services. Thus, as the Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr holidays approach in 2026, FST UNAIR ensures that academic activities continue smoothly. The academic community can therefore continue to receive professional and responsive services.
