Surabaya – Senin (29/7/2019), Program Studi Matematika Fakultas Sains dan Teknologi Universitas Airlangga telah melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat di SMP Negeri 2 Tanggul, Jl Urip Sumoharjo 65 Tanggul, Jember. Kegiatan berjudul “Peningkatan Profesionalitas Guru SMP Melalui Penyusunan Instrumen Evaluasi Pembelajaran Berbasis Thinking Analysis Bagi Guru Matematika Di Kabupaten Jember” dilaksanakan bekerja sama dengan Dinas Pendidikan Kabupaten Jember.

Peserta kegiatan ini adalah guru pelajaran Matematika SMP sekabupaten Jember yang tergabung dalam MGMP Matematika SMP beberapa wilayah. Kegiatan yang diketuai Abdulloh Jaelani, S.Si, M.Si. ini melibatkan dosen Program Studi Matematika FST Unair sebagai pemateri, instruktur, dan penelaah dibantu oleh mahasiswa.

Kegiatan dilaksanakan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru mata pelajaran Matematika SMP dalam penyusunan instrumen evaluasi berbasis thinking analysis yang nantinya dapat digunakan sebagai tolok ukur kemampuan siswa dalam bernalar, berpikir kritis, dan sistematis. Kegiatan dikemas dalam bentuk pelatihan berupa pemberian teori dan praktek penyusunan soal dengan kategori HOTS (High Order Thinking Skills), dilanjutkan dengan tugas pembuatan soal untuk guru yang akan ditelaah oleh tim pengmas. Hasil akhir diharapkan akan tersusun bank soal matematika yang berkategori HOTS.

Surabaya – Monday (7/29/2019), the Mathematics Study Program of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Airlangga University has carried out community service activities at SMP Negeri 2 Tanggul, Jl Urip Sumoharjo 65 Tanggul, Jember. The activity entitled “Increasing the Professionalism of Junior High School Teachers Through the Preparation of Learning Evaluation Instrument Based on Thinking Analysis for Mathematics Teachers in Jember District” was carried out in collaboration with the District Education Office of Jember.

The participants of this activity were junior high school Mathematics teachers in Jember Regency who are members of the Mathematics MGMP in several regions. The activity was chaired by Abdulloh Jaelani, S.Si, M.Sc. This involved the lecturers of the FST UNAIR’s Mathematics Study Program as speakers, instructors, and reviewers assisted by students.

The activities are aimed to improve the ability of junior high school mathematics teachers in the preparation of evaluation instruments based on thinking analysis that can later be used as benchmarks for students’ ability to reason, think critically, and systematically. The activities are packaged in the form of training that provides the theory and practice of formulating problem sets in the HOTS (High Order Thinking Skills) category, followed by the task of making problem sets for the teacher to be reviewed by the community service team. This activity is expected to be able to arrange mathematical problem set bank in the category of HOTS.
