{:id}Belakangan ini banyak beredar kosmetik yang mengandung bahan kimia berbahaya, khususnya zat hidrokuinon. Sehingga perlu waspada dalam memilih kosmetik yang akan digunakan. Oleh karena itu, sebuah karya baru diciptakan oleh mahasiswa Universitas Airlangga untuk mendeteksi kandungan hidrokuinon pada kosmetik khususnya krim pemutih bernama NONI-KIT. Karya tersebut diciptakan oleh tim Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa Universitas Airlangga yang terdiri dari Nilam Andriyani (FST), Miftakhul Jannatin (FST), Hestin Dwi Anjarwati (FV), serta Hartono (FKP).

Hidrokuinon merupakan zat aktif yang terdapat pada kosmetik khususnya krim pemutih yang berpotensi menghambat pembentukan melanin pada permukaan kulit sehingga menjadikan kulit menjadi putih dan mulus dalam waktu relatif singkat. Dengan proses yang instan serta tanpa pengawasan dokter, hidrokuinon memiliki beberapa efek samping, diantaranya yaitu wajah menjadi kemerahan, timbul rasa terbakar, dan iritasi. Dalam jangka waktu yang lama, hidrokuinon berpotensi menyebabkna kanker kulit serta kelainan pada ginjal. Menurut PerMenKes nomor 445/MenKes/Per/V/1998, kadar hidrokuinon yang diperbolehkan hanya 2%.

NONIK-KIT berbentuk cairan. Petunjuk penggunaan NONI-KIT sangat mudah yaitu dengan meneteskan 2-3 tetes pada krim kosmetik yang telah diambil sedikit kemudian diaduk. Perubahan warna yang terjadi pada krim dicocokkan dengan indikator warna yang terdapat dalam kemasan NONI-KIT. Bagi kosmetik yang bebas hidrokuinon maka warna larutan tidak berubah (tetap kuning/oranye). Semakin besar kadar hidrokuinon yang terkandung maka berubah menjadi hijau, kemudian biru, semakin besar maka semakin gelap hingga akhirnya berwarna hitam.

Ide dan implementasi cairan tersebut diwujudkan dalam waktu yang relatif singkat. Bahkan karya tersebut telah mendapatkan Surat Izin Usaha Dagang (SIUP) dari Dinas Perindustrian dan Perdagangan (DISPERINDAG) Kota Surabaya dengan nomor SIUP 503/3494.A/436.6.11/2015. Ide menciptakan produk ini karena maraknya produk-produk kosmetik yang beredar di Indonesia. Ide tersebut juga merupakan misi dalam mewujudkan Indonesia Sehat 2025 sehingga masyarakat diharapkan lebih selektif dan cerdas dalam memilih kosmetik yang digunakan.

(Tim NONI-KIT){:}{:en}Lately, there are many cosmetic products in the market that contain dangerous chemicals, especially hydroquinone. Thus, vigilance is needed to choose cosmetics. To overcome it, a new innovation was made by the students of Universitas Airlangga to detect hydroquinone in the content of cosmetics, especially whitening cream, named NONI-KIT. It was created by a team of Student Creativity Program Universitas Airlangga that consists of Nilam Andriyani (FST), Miftakhul Jannatin (FST), Hestin Dwi Anjarwati (FV), and Hartono (FKP).

Hydroquinone is an active substance in cosmetics, especially whitening cream, that has the potential to inhibit melanin formation on the skin’s surface so that the skin becomes white and smooth in a relatively short time. With an instant process and without the supervision of a doctor, hydroquinone has several side effects, namely reddish face, burning sensation, and irritation. In a long term, hydroquinone can potentially cause skin cancer and kidney defect. According to the Ministerial Regulation of the Minister of Health number 445/MenKes/Per/V/1998, only 2% of hydroquinone content is allowed.

NONI-KIT is available in liquid form. It is very easy to use NONI-KIT. Drop 2-3 drops of NONI-KIT to a sample of cosmetic cream, then mix it. The change of cream color is to be matched with the color indicator that is included in NONI-KIT package. If the cosmetic is free of hydroquinone, the color does not change (still yellow/orange). The more the hydroquinone content, the color changes into green, then blue, and if it contains even more hydroquinone, the color gets darker that it eventually changes into black.
The idea and implementation of that liquid was realized in a relatively short time. In fact, it has already acquired a Trading Business License (SIUP) from the Office of Industry and Trade (DISPERINDAG) of Surabaya with SIUP number 503/3494.A/436.6.11/2015.The idea to create this product came from the cosmetic products that are on the rise in the Indonesian market. That idea is also a mission to realize Healthy Indonesia 2025 so that the community is expected to be more selective and smart in choosing cosmetics.
