Khun Nay Win Tun, The First Graduate of ADS from Myanmar, Represents Graduation Speech


The inauguration of the graduates of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) which was held on Sunday (03/08/2020) was very solemn. The graduation was opened with the accompaniment of song Lir-ilir while the Rector of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., M.T., Ak., CMA entered the Airlangga Convention Center (ACC) together with a number of UNAIR leaders. The song marked the start of inauguration procession of the March 2020 graduation.

A warm welcome was given by the Executive Board of IKA UNAIR Mirza Mutaqien S.H. to the graduates who today officially joined as members of the Airlangga University Alumni Family Association (IKA).

“As the representative of IKA UNAIR, I give my best congratulations and wish the greatest success for all of the graduates who have achieved the degree and successfully completed their studies. Congratulations on finally becoming part of UNAIR’s alumni, we hope you could develop your alumni network and at the same time give more contribution to our beloved almamater, Universitas Airlangga, “said Mirza Mutaqien.

Not only that, Dr. Khun Nay Win Tun, one of Myanmar’s Airlangga Development Scholarship (ADS) grantee, had the opportunity to give a speech representing the graduates. Khun was listed as the first graduate to be granted with ADS scholarship.

“Today is the end of a long journey and struggle during our effort to complete our education. I am very grateful to God that He gave us the strength to endure the struggle as well as to gain knowledge to become experts in our respective fields,” he said.

“I would like to say big gratitude to the Language Center (Pusat Bahasa) for teaching me Indonesian so that I can adapt to the environment. My utmost gratitude are dedicated to Universitas Airlangga which has led me to reach five Scopus indexed journals”, as he closed his speech.
