On June 24, 2026, the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), welcomed a delegation from Pukyong National University (PKNU), South Korea. In addition to reinforcing academic ties, the meeting created new opportunities for joint research, student exchange programs, and environmental innovation. Prof. Dr. Fatmawati, M.Si., officially opened the event. Afterwards, Prof. Mochamad Zakki Fahmi, M.Si., Ph.D., together with representatives from the Department of Environmental Engineering, welcomed the PKNU delegation. Meanwhile, the delegation was led by Professor Kyunghoi Kim, Ph.D., accompanied by Assistant Professor Jong-oh Kim. Through this meeting, both universities reaffirmed their commitment to sustainable international collaboration.<\/p>\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FST UNAIR\u2013PKNU Collaboration in International Research<\/h5>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The primary agenda focused on collaborative research to enhance primary productivity through renewable energy derived from contaminated coastal sediments. Nur Indradewi Oktavitri, Ph.D., represented FST UNAIR, while Professor Kyunghoi Kim, Ph.D., signed on behalf of PKNU. Consequently, both students and academic staff will gain broader opportunities to strengthen their expertise through international academic experiences.<\/p><br\/><br\/><h2 data-section-id=\"q5snvj\" data-start=\"2215\" data-end=\"2264\"><\/h2><\/p>\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FST UNAIR\u2013PKNU Collaboration Supports the SDGs<\/h5>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to the IA signing ceremony, lecturers from the Department of Environmental Engineering presented several innovative research projects. Dr. Nurina Fitriani, S.T., together with Nur Indradewi Oktavitri, Ph.D., introduced a range of ongoing research developments. Subsequently, Danar Arifka Rahman, S.T., M.T., presented the profile of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Airlangga, to the visiting delegation.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"681\" src=\"https:\/\/fst.unair.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/10f-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"Group Photo of Participants Following the FST UNAIR&#x2013;PKNU Strategic Collaboration Meeting\" class=\"wp-image-23287\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fst.unair.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/10f-1024x681.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/fst.unair.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/10f-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/fst.unair.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/10f-768x511.jpg 768w, https:\/\/fst.unair.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/10f.jpg 1274w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><p class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchorContainer\" data-start=\"2714\" data-end=\"3286\">On the other hand, the <strong data-start=\"2737\" data-end=\"2769\">FST UNAIR\u2013PKNU collaboration<\/strong> also contributes to the achievement of the <strong data-start=\"2813\" data-end=\"2868\">United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/strong>. The academic exchange program supports <strong data-start=\"2909\" data-end=\"2938\">SDG 4 (Quality Education)<\/strong> by promoting international learning opportunities. In addition, collaborative research advances <strong data-start=\"3035\" data-end=\"3086\">SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure)<\/strong> through scientific innovation and technological development. Furthermore, this international partnership strengthens <strong data-start=\"3204\" data-end=\"3243\">SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals)<\/strong> by fostering long-term global cooperation.<\/p><br\/><p data-start=\"3288\" data-end=\"3702\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><\/p><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PKNU also involves the <strong data-start=\"3311\" data-end=\"3340\">Yeongnam Sea Grant Center<\/strong> as an interdisciplinary research partner. Consequently, both institutions can develop collaborative internship programs, climate change research, and environmental management initiatives.
