The birth of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) began with the development of the Basic Natural Science (BNS) Institute at the Faculty of Medicine. This institution was one of the institutions developed according to the master plan of Universitas Airlangga in 1970\u20131979. Furthermore, from the development of this institution, supported by the availability of human resources (HR) and adequate equipment, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) was born. FMIPA was officially established through the Decree of the Rector of Universitas Airlangga Number: 6400\/PT.03.9\/T\/1982 dated July 1, 1982, which was later stipulated by Presidential Decree Number: 56\/1982 dated September 7, 1982 concerning the Organizational Structure of Universitas Airlangga. The establishment of study programs in FMIPA was formalized through Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture Number: 0556\/D\/1982, namely S-1 Biology, S-1 Physics, S-1 Chemistry, and S-1 Mathematics.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In the 1985\/1986-1990\/1991 academic year, FMIPA together with 8 other FMIPA PTN were assigned to organize D-3 education in MIPA education, namely based on the decision letter of the Director General of Higher Education Dikbud Number: 68\/DIKTI\/Kep\/1987. In the academic year 1999\/2000, a diploma program (D-1 and D-3) Information Systems was opened under the Department of Mathematics and in the academic year 2002\/2003 a D-3 diploma program Instrumentation System Automation was opened under the Department of Physics, the three diploma programs were inaugurated based on the implementation permit based on the letter of the Director General of Higher Education No. 1325\/D\/T\/2002 dated July 5, 2002.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In accordance with the Decree of the Rector of Universitas Airlangga Number: 3294\/J03\/OT\/2008 dated April 10, 2008, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) changed its name to the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), along with the new study programs, namely S1 Information Systems, S1 Technobiomedicine, and S1 Environmental Science and Technology.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
