UNAIR NEWS – In order to improve the commitment of service and bureaucracy of Universitas Airlangga free from Corruption, Collusion and Nepotism (KKN), professional and full of responsibility, bureaucratic reform is something that must be done. In the implementation of bureaucratic reform, UNAIR is preparing faculties and public services to enter the Integrity Zone Development program towards a Free From Corruption Area (WBK) and Clean and Serving Bureaucratic Area (WBM) 2020.

UNAIR’s commitment in preparing Kemenpan RB’s program is proven by the signing of Integrity Pact which was carried out online through Zoom on Tuesday, 07/14/2020 by UNAIR Rector, Prof. Dr. H. Mohammad Nasih, MT, SE, Ak, CMA, deans of faculties, and heads of centers/institutions/agencies within UNAIR.

On that occasion, Prof. Nasih said that UNAIR has made many changes, and is committed to the integrity of corruption-free services. Regarding the establishment of the integrity zone, Prof. Nasih explained several important points related to the establishment of the Integrity Zone (ZI).

There are 6 ZI targets. Namely structuring governance, change management, structuring HR systems, strengthening accountability, strengthening supervision, and improving public services. Therefore, continued Prof. Nasih, evidence of excellent service is needed.

In 2017 UNAIR had the largest bureaucratic reform value in Indonesia. It was then made a pilot by Dikti. Then in 2018, based on the results of a survey team from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), UNAIR could not enter WBK and WBP. Continuing in 2019, a survey from Kemenpan RB showed good results from UNAIR.

Regarding the establishment of ZI, the procedures and bureaucracy apply in general. ZI also applies in government agencies. So, the procedures are carried out in general, not only in universities. Therefore, UNAIR began to design a timeline for ZI development at UNAIR.

“Regarding commitment or strategy, the bureaucratic reform that we do is different from the ministry. It is necessary to socialize bureaucratic reform by synchronizing with what the ministry wants regarding the integrity zone,” said Prof. Nasih.

Prof. Nasih emphasized socialization in the faculty realm to education staff and students in order to maximize understanding of ZI at the university. So that when the survey team visits the faculty, the faculty is ready to fulfill the ZI assessment indicators. (*)
