Three Physics Student of FST Unair Head to Sakura Country

Three students of the Bachelor of Science in Physics, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Airlangga have passed the rigorous selection and been accepted into the Osaka University Short-term Student Exchange Program (OUSSEP) for the 2025/2026 academic year. They will study and research for two full semesters at The University of Osaka (OU), Japan.

The OUSSEP program, which has been running since 1996, is one of the leading exchange programs offered by OU to students from all over the world. OU’s reputation in the global arena is undoubted – based on QS World University Rankings 2025, OU is ranked 86th in the world overall and 57th in the world in Physics.

The three students who made Airlangga proud, as shown in the photo from left to right, are Diajeng Putri Imaya (182241030), Muhammad Asyam Abyan (182231013), Umbu Kapading Hadambiwa (182221036). All three are active members of the Research Center for Quantum Engineering Design (RC-QED), which is under the guidance of Dr. Febdian Rusydi and Dr. Zaidan. Dr. Febdian as the head of RC-QED emphasized the importance of their mission as representatives of Airlangga, to show their true qualities as Airlangga Knights not only in study and research, but also in ethics and collaboration.

With the scientific spirit and fighting spirit typical of Airlangga, the three are expected to be able to make achievements and build international networks that will have a broad impact on the Faculty of Science and Technology, Airlangga University, and Indonesia.
