As part of the internationalization program and strengthening academic collaboration, three lecturers from Department of Physics, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), Prof. Dr. Khusnul Ain, S.T., M.Si., Dr. Ir. Soegianto Soelistiono, M.Si., and Dr. Imam Sapuan, S.Si., M.Si., conducted Staff Mobility Program to Photonic Device and Sensor Research (PDSR) Group, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) on 5-7 May 2025.

On the first day, May 5, 2025, it began with a discussion session and research meeting between UNAIR delegates and PDSR Group UTHM. This meeting focused on sharing scientific knowledge in the field of physics, especially related to the development of photonics and sensor technology.

The second day, May 6, 2025, continued with a strategic meeting session that discussed the initiation of research collaboration between FST UNAIR and PDSR Group UTHM. The activity includes the preparation of a long-term collaboration roadmap which includes joint research, collaborative scientific publications, and staff and student mobility programs.

Then on the third day, May 7, 2025, the FST UNAIR delegation conducted benchmarking activities at the UTHM research center, by visiting research center buildings which are UTHM’s leading facilities in the development of science and technology. In addition, branding activities and introduction of FST UNAIR S2 and S3 study programs were also carried out, which aimed to attract prospective international students and expand UNAIR’s postgraduate academic reach at the global level.

It is hoped that the implementation of this activity can create synergies that accelerate innovation and real contributions in solving major issues faced by the global community. In addition, it also increases the research capacity of Universitas Airlangga, especially increasing the competence of lecturers in the Department of Physics, so as to strengthen international cooperation which provides great benefits for the development of science and technology, especially in the field of photonics.
