As part of the effort to strengthen international networks and academic collaboration, two lecturers of Information Systems undergraduate program, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), namely Purbandini, S.Si., M.Kom. and Dr. Eva Hariyanti, S.Si., M.T., participated in Staff Mobility Program to two renowned educational institutions in Malaysia, namely Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT), Universiti Malaya (UM) and Center for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (UTM-CIAM), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).

The activity at FCSIT UM took place on May 5-6, 2025 which began with an introduction session to the research capacity of each university. In this session, both parties presented the focus and achievements of research in the field of computing and informatics, in-depth discussions on challenges and opportunities for future research, as well as the preparation of a draft Implementation Agreement (IA) which includes research collaboration plans and visiting lecturer programs. In addition, delegates from UNAIR also had the opportunity to visit FCSIT’s research laboratory facilities as part of exploring the potential for more applicable cooperation.

On May 7, 2025, delegates from UNAIR continued their visit to UTM-CIAM, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. During the meeting, each institution explained the vision and mission of research development, especially in the field of applied mathematics and computing. This activity is the first step for the initiation of directed and sustainable research collaboration in relevant strategic areas.
It is hoped that this collaboration between universities can strengthen research and applications of applied mathematics and informatics which are the main focus in facing global technological challenges, become a forum to introduce the research strengths of each university, and support the achievement of UNAIR’s vision in becoming a world-class university that excels in science and technology.
