Surabaya, May 15, 2025 – After the opening session that took place at Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), the delegation of School of Informatics and IT (IIT), Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore, continued their academic visit agenda with representatives from FST UNAIR with nature exploration at Gunung Anyar Mangrove Botanical Garden, Surabaya, Thursday morning (05/15/2025), at 10:00 am.
This activity aims to introduce the potential of Indonesia’s biodiversity, as well as raise awareness of the importance of environmental conservation. Delegates from Temasek were invited to walk along the educational path in the mangrove area, while getting a first-hand explanation of the ecological functions of mangrove forests, typical coastal flora and fauna species, and the role of local communities in preserving this ecosystem.

The educational tour was guided by Mr. Anjar Triwibowo, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D. as faculty ambassador, along with student ambassadors and FST UNAIR Public Relations team. During the activity, the participants seemed enthusiastic about interacting, directly observing the condition of mangroves, and discussing environmental conservation efforts in each country.
It is hoped that the visit to the Mangrove Botanical Garden will provide an outdoor learning experience that enriches participants’ perspectives on global environmental issues, while strengthening the collaborative spirit between Indonesia and Singapore in the fields of science and technology.
