Surabaya, February 5, 2025 – The Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held a Dissemination and Open Innovation Sharing event by PT Bumitama Gunajaya Agro, represented by Mr. Muhammad Kalil and Mr. Jusnaliansyah, that was warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Fatmawati, M.Si., the Vice Dean III, and Prof. Mochamad Zakki Fahmi, M.Si., Ph.D., the Head of the Department of Chemistry at FST UNAIR.
The event, held in the Faculty of Science and Technology’s Meeting Room, was attended by lecturers and postgraduate students interested in innovations in the oil palm plantation sector. This initiative was launched due to the urgency fostering rapid and sustainable innovation in addressing the problems and challenges. The purpose is to maintain growth in the oil palm plantation sector. This activity further discussed some innovative strategies to tackle the challenges of the palm oil industry in the future.
In addition to providing insights on the importance of innovation in the plantation industry, PT Bumitama Gunajaya Agro also offered research funding opportunities for lecturers and students through the Open Innovation Program 2025. This program aims to support research that contributes to the sustainability and growth of the oil palm sector.
Through this activity, it is hoped that more academics and researchers will be involved in the development of research-based innovations to enhance the competitiveness of the oil palm industry sustainably.
