On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Universitas Riau (UNRI) held a collaborative visit to the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR). This visit is part of the efforts of both institutions to strengthen academic collaboration, research, and development in the fields of science and technology.
The delegation from FMIPA UNRI was represented by the Dean of FMIPA, Dr. Syamsudhuha, M.Sc., along with Dr. Arisman Adnan, a Staff of the Dean. Meanwhile, FST UNAIR was represented by Prof. Dr. Fatmawati, M.Si., the Vice Dean for Research and Cooperation, and several lecturers from the Statistics Study Program.

As a concrete form of this collaboration, a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between FMIPA UNRI and FST UNAIR will be signed on November 9, 2024, by Prof. Dr. Miratul Khasanah, M.Si., the Dean of FST UNAIR, and Dr. Syamsudhuha, M.Sc., the Dean of FMIPA UNRI. The event will take place at the Harper Premier Hotel in Batam, coinciding with MIPAnet 2024, an annual scientific meeting for mathematics and natural sciences faculties across Indonesia. Through this MoA, the two faculties have agreed to collaborate in various areas, including improving the quality of education, joint research, and human resource development.
This initiative reflects the practical implementation of SDG Goal 17, where strong partnerships between higher education institutions in Indonesia are expected to drive the achievement of shared goals in the development of science and technology.
It is hoped that this collaboration will not only enrich the academic and research networks among universities in Indonesia but also contribute significantly to creating innovations and sustainable solutions that have a broad impact on society.
