Adjustment of Lecture Hours at FST Unair During Ramadan 1447 H

Faculty of Science and Technology Universitas Airlangga has officially adjusted lecture hours during Ramadan 1447 H. The policy applies from 18 February to 13 March 2026. The faculty introduced this measure to balance academic responsibilities and spiritual observance.

The decision refers to the circular issued by the Directorate of Education Universitas Airlangga. Therefore, faculty leaders immediately informed lecturers and department heads. In addition, all study programs received clear technical guidance.

During Ramadan, each lecture session lasts 40 minutes. Previously, one credit hour required 50 minutes of face-to-face instruction. However, the faculty condensed the duration without reducing learning outcomes. As a result, academic standards remain consistent and measurable.

On-site classes begin at 07:30 a.m. at the earliest. Subsequently, academic activities conclude no later than 4:40 p.m. This schedule provides adequate rest time for lecturers and students. Moreover, it supports a more adaptive learning rhythm during Ramadan.

In addition to classroom sessions, lecturers continue using the cybercampus platform. Course implementation follows the official credit system settings. Consequently, flexibility remains intact throughout the adjustment period. Likewise, students are encouraged to monitor official schedules regularly.

Online Sessions and Academic Coordination During Ramadan 1447 H

As part of the adjustment of lecture hours at FST Unair during Ramadan 1447 H, the faculty has scheduled online classes on 16 and 17 March 2026. This decision offers additional flexibility near the end of Ramadan. Therefore, lecturers should prepare digital materials in advance.

Meanwhile, professional and specialist programs may apply specific adjustments. Program managers can coordinate internally based on operational needs. Nevertheless, academic quality assurance remains the top priority.

Furthermore, faculty leaders encourage all lecturers to uphold their commitment to teaching. Lecturers not only deliver course material but also foster an empathetic learning environment. Through this approach, students continue to feel supported while observing the fasting month.

This policy reflects the commitment of Universitas Airlangga to responsive academic governance. On one hand, the faculty safeguards educational excellence. On the other hand, it respects the spiritual needs of its academic community.

Finally, the faculty encourages all members to implement this policy responsibly. Through strong collaboration, academic activities will remain orderly, productive, and meaningful throughout Ramadan 1447 H.
